Internship Programme

About the Internship programme

Our eight-week internship programme is designed for undergraduate and postgraduate students with up to one year of study remaining and offers work experience, as well as training, to enable you to gain an excellent understanding of what a consulting pensions actuary does. You will also get to understand our business and our culture.

You will be given real responsibility to contribute to client work, as well as have the opportunity to attend client events where possible. This means working with a range of colleagues assisting trustees who manage pension schemes, or the companies that support them. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work on a group project within your office, which will be presented at the end of your internship.
During the programme, you will get a good insight as to why XPS is a great place to work and why, as a graduate, this is an excellent environment in which to build your actuarial career. Some of our current students, who started as interns, share their experiences in our video. See what they have to say here.

Our internship programme also provides a stepping stone to our Graduate programme. As an intern, you will be considered for a graduate position based on your performance and achievements during your time with us, without any further assessment.
Our aim is for you to gain a good understanding of the potential career path ahead of you, while being given real responsibility on client projects.
