Emerging markets have become very popular amongst UK Pension Schemes and are often used as a means of increasing diversification and adding an extra source of returns.
However, many pension scheme investors are not aware that today, Chinese equities represent nearly half of emerging market indices and its implications.
We explore the issues posed for pension schemes and ways to mitigate the risks.
