Bringing newsletters into the digital age

We're commited to creating newsletters that provide clarity and simplicity, by stripping down content so it is readable and engaging for all members. Clear signposting and use of infographics highlight key information and bring a visual element to newsletters which make them more approachable for the reader, allowing members to pick out important information in only a few minutes of reading.

We have also encouraged our clients to adopt interactive online newsletters that include summary contents which give members key ‘at a glance’ figures and points them to the relevant pages to encourage them to self-select the information they want to read.


Making benefit statements simple

We are passionate about making benefit statements more usable and engaging, so members can properly keep an eye on the progress of their savings. Our simpler statements are visually appealing and the information is laid out clearly.

In line with legislation and our communications principles, key notes and additional information are presented in clear, user-friendly documents. These are linked to from the main statement, not to hide this information but to introduce a more effective level of hierarchy.

A tailor-made web solution

Increasingly pension schemes are expected to educate members about their benefits. A clear and concise website can provide a central hub for members to not only find out information about their scheme, but also about pensions in general.

As well as providing a website, we can also work with you to develop an engagement strategy, reminding members of the information available to them and keeping it regularly updated. This can include a member survey, to help you better understand your audience, and an email collection exercise, to help you communicate with your members in their preferred way.


The amazing response rate to the GMPe data gathering exercise was a direct result of the clear and engaging communications prepared by XPS. Lots of the people we were contacting had left the Plan many years ago so XPS ensured that the data collection process was straightforward, focused and trustworthy by suggesting and implementing the online form. XPS were responsive throughout the process and had excellent technical knowledge which made preparing the communications easy and efficient.

XPS really understood what we were trying to achieve with our investment exercise and how best to engage with our members and weren’t afraid to challenge current thinking. They were able to turn a very complex message into clear, concise and creative communications that members engaged with.

Bottom line, we had the highest number of member investment decisions that we’ve ever seen!
